I'm Your Man
06:34
|
|||
The rain was pouring down on us, the deadlines fast approaching us.
The cubicles enclose them, the moistened air supposes
The people scowling, the wind was howling.
The raindrops dripped upon our sheets. Like love letters wet, their ink will bleed.
Warm bodies sparingly seen, there are more we need to see
To petition to sign on, I'm your man, will you sign on?
I'm your man, I'm your man, I'm your man, I'm your man.
The gradual sun was coming out, the people soon were crawling out.
We waited at the store, out front for folks to implore,
And some were timid, the clock was ticking.
The tired time was cutting close, each moment try to make the most.
I'll need some backing real soon to put myself out there for you.
I'm your man, will you sign on? I'm losing time, please sign on..
I'm your man, I'm your man, I'm your man, I'm your man.
I want to win, I want to win, you don't know how much I want to win, I really want to win your heart.
So won't you count me in, I cannot petition your heart if your love's not within.
I'm your man, I'm your man, I spell M, A, chlld, N. Represent man, soul-grown man, way past 21, natural born lover's man, for you..
I'm your man, I'm your man, I'm your man, I'm your man

Charlie

She came from the wild with a dream and some style
Gonna make it big in the city
With a handheld beret, she managed to pay for a dress that made her look pretty
Pay no regard to her – those were her younger days
The spirit’s beat out of her – I think she’ll be coming on home
She took up in a bind with the questionable kind
smokin’ and drinkin’ her respect out
Every morning was bright when she threw away the night
She needed to kill time ‘til the next one
It’s not unusual to whip up the carousel and turn on the music to full circus bleat
Feels kind of magical when you can be tragical
Don’t’cha laugh when the coroner tickles your feet
Old Lucifer’s aim, old Scratch’s tired game
Was daring the lord to do better
Old Scratch smiled and laughed while the thunderstorms did crash
He said I bet you my freedom that I get her
She said I’ve met the devil and I now know him well
Is it better to serve heaven or ruling in Hell
Mama don’t you cry for me and papa don’t you pray
I turned to you to tell me - you turned me away
When the mourners all passed for the first time at last
They wondered was her new road filled with sorrow
For some of them knew, lies we tell today
Are truths somehow tomorrow

Althea Adelina Greene
06:25

Althea Adelina Greene, the sweetest ride I seen. Camshaft and timing gear are all she really needs and down the road she speeds, me chasing after her.
Won't you come back to me, Althea Adelina Greene, won't you take me for a ride? We could be together true, we could travel to places never been before, and I would go away with her if she'll run, run, run, run,
run, run, run,
run, run, run, run
run, run, run
run, run, run, please start up and run, please, Althea.
Althea Adelina's down, she don't come around, stuck in the junkyard muck. How my heart burns when her wheels don't turn. When is she on the move? How's her engine been? It's a new one, 318. She would pass my inspection. I'd go with her in all directions if she'll run, run, run, run,
run, run, run,
run, run, run, run
run, run, run
run, run, run, please start up and run, please, Althea.
Althea Adelina's stray, a hundred fifty dollars away. I'm hoofing it on foot to work so I can pay to get her back, get her back on track. Without her I have no drive. All the eyes fall in line with my sweet '69. Her contours are smooth as a sheet, her muffler is soft and sweet, and her interior I would seat
all the passengers that get to ride her, feel her air-suspension shocks. Won't you come back to me, Althea Adelina Greene? I won't take you out in inclement weather. We won't travel hell for leather. I won't get you towed for not paying the parking meter. I'll take you out to a drive-in theatre.
If you'll run, run, run, run......
If I stick in my key will you start up and run?
If I stick in my key will you start up and run?
If I stick in my key will you start up and run, please Althea?

Nowhere boat nowhere boat
That boat don’t float it’s a nowhere boat and I want you to take me home
But there’s no place called home
Nowhere I’m not alone
Force a smile for a little while
grab an oar jump in the nowhere boat

St. Starin'
07:59
|
|||
He could not believe his eyes when he looked into the skies, he saw a face with a big beard lookin' down from high.
It was highly odd to see such a figure vividly--although unknown, it was so real, it could've been carved out of stone.
He was starin' right down at him, he was starin' right down at me, he was starin'. He was starin' right down at the both of us, just starin'.
Why is he hanging around, a living face shaped out of a cloud? Lookin' like he's got something to say, waiting around to greet our day, he's just a-starin', he was starin', up in the sky starin', I saw a saint starin'.
I confirmed the face he saw, when my friend looked up in awe. He said to me "Do you see that face up there afar?"
I said "I can see the hair, there's a face up in the air, it's got eyes and nose and lips and ears and it's growing a big beard. He's starin right down at you and me, I wish we could see what it can see, it's just starin', starin' right down at the both of us, just starin'."
What do you think he wants? Is is a saint or is it a haunt? What do you think it means? Is it judging us or will it set us free? It's just starin', he was starin', up in the sky starin', I can't blame him for starin'.
Sunlight shine through, reveal to us what is true. Is this one big hallucination or is reality taking a vacation?
It was very hard to find how it could've been our minds. We both saw the same exact thing starin' with its eyes.
It was on a summer mornin', we were feeling quite forlorn, we were up all night, had not slept tight in the strange clothes we had worn.
That's when blue light crept in through the skylight, we couldn't help noticing the dawning violet. We were starin'. Time was in a vacuum, the first ray of sunlight started to shine through. We were starin', at the face starin', up in the sky starin', can't blame him for starin'.
Sunlight shine through, reveal to us what is true. Is this one big hallucination or is reality taking a vacation?
I seen a saint come passing through. I seen a saint looking at me and you. I seen a saint up there in the sky. I seen a saint looking down from up high.
Sunlight shine through, reveal to us what is true. Is this one big hallucination or is reality taking a vacation?

Ghost In My Heart
05:45
|
|||
She's out of my space and I'm saving face from the fight scene. She's out of my hair, but her memories everywhere. I drove her out, I drover her home, move along. Now there's an empty space inside me I cannot atone.
I toned her out like a silence. Not she nor anybody could've ever found me. I lost my mind in trials and now I pay the price.
I learned the hard way that you can't keep what you shun away. Pushin'pushin' pushin' pushin' pushin' pushin'push it out
You can't do anything if you're afraid to fail. Pushin'pushin' pushin' pushin' pushin' pushin'push it away.
"Get off your ass," she told me and I elected to stay down. Pushin'pushin' pushin' pushin' pushin' pushin'push it up.
I pushed her out, I pushed it.
I'm living with a ghost in my heart. Each day gets off to an empty start. I'm living with a ghost in my heart, bound from finding a role to fill the part.
Two baby seagulls drenched in rain, Pushin'pushin' pushin' pushin' pushin' pushin'push it
Weathering storms, never the same. Pushin'pushin' pushin' pushin' pushin' pushin'push it
The coffin drowns the pain. Pushin'pushin' pushin' pushin' pushin' pushin'push it
It's too late now to look back in vain. Pushin'pushin' pushin' pushin' pushin' pushin'push it
I'm living with a ghost in my hear. Each day gets off to an empty start. I'm living with a ghost in my heart, bound from finding a role to fill the part.

Forfeit
08:51
|
|||
Forfeit, forfeit, forfeit, forfeit.
You've fallen for lies, you've fallen for your own disguise.
You find yourself hiding from all that you have cared for.
Fallen soul, you've fallen from a place above.
You've fallen low, you've lost all you ever had, all you ever had, it's what you
Forfeit, forfeit, forfeit, forfeit.
But for the flood that overflows from your heart,
Would you have landed upon all that you have lost, all that you have lost? It's what you
Forfeit, forfeit, forfeit, forfeit.
You let it go, you give it up, you succumb to your sweet surrender.
You'll always know what you can't have, you'll always live in the remainder, live in the remainder of what you
Forfeit, forfeit, forfeit, forfeit.
