This song is about a hallucination of a man in the sky starin' down.
lyrics
He could not believe his eyes when he looked into the skies, he saw a face with a big beard lookin' down from high.
It was highly odd to see such a figure vividly--although unknown, it was so real, it could've been carved out of stone.
He was starin' right down at him, he was starin' right down at me, he was starin'. He was starin' right down at the both of us, just starin'.
Why is he hanging around, a living face shaped out of a cloud? Lookin' like he's got something to say, waiting around to greet our day, he's just a-starin', he was starin', up in the sky starin', I saw a saint starin'.
I confirmed the face he saw, when my friend looked up in awe. He said to me "Do you see that face up there afar?"
I said "I can see the hair, there's a face up in the air, it's got eyes and nose and lips and ears and it's growing a big beard. He's starin right down at you and me, I wish we could see what it can see, it's just starin', starin' right down at the both of us, just starin'."
What do you think he wants? Is is a saint or is it a haunt? What do you think it means? Is it judging us or will it set us free? It's just starin', he was starin', up in the sky starin', I can't blame him for starin'.
Sunlight shine through, reveal to us what is true. Is this one big hallucination or is reality taking a vacation?
It was very hard to find how it could've been our minds. We both saw the same exact thing starin' with its eyes.
It was on a summer mornin', we were feeling quite forlorn, we were up all night, had not slept tight in the strange clothes we had worn.
That's when blue light crept in through the skylight, we couldn't help noticing the dawning violet. We were starin'. Time was in a vacuum, the first ray of sunlight started to shine through. We were starin', at the face starin', up in the sky starin', can't blame him for starin'.
Sunlight shine through, reveal to us what is true. Is this one big hallucination or is reality taking a vacation?
I seen a saint come passing through. I seen a saint looking at me and you. I seen a saint up there in the sky. I seen a saint looking down from up high.
Sunlight shine through, reveal to us what is true. Is this one big hallucination or is reality taking a vacation?
